![]() ![]() We've had issues with those here (I got a spare to use at home when one of the sales guys had issues like yours, but I would never encounter so I didn't care - free dock!). Ignore the speakers, they're not the issue. PS: no other peripheral is having any issues. Those work, but are not loud enough for conference calls/videos when the Surface is in the mount. Or swap the speakers out, but doubt it's the speakers causing it.Īny other suggestions is greatly appreciated except for removing the speakers and using the built-in Surface I do have two other users in the office with a Surface Dock that I could swap mine out with to see if it that's the cause. The Surface is running Windows 10 v1909, the Dock firmware was updated to the latest two weeks ago to try and resolve this but still occurs. Once it's working again it may not happen again for a couple of days. Sometimes I have to reboot 4 - 10 times before the volume stays normal. Rebooting is the only "long-term" solution. Unplugging the Dock from the Surface and back in also does the same. If I unplug the speakers from the Dock and plug back in the volume is normal again, but only for about 30 seconds or less before going super quiet again. Without an "error beep" or other indication, the volume drops very low, unless I crank up the volume on the speakers to max and on my Surface to Max, then I can barely hear a sound, but possible. The symptom only occurs when my Surface is connected to the Dock, when disconnected this has never occurred and this began only 2-3 weeks ago and had been working flawlessly for months prior.Ĭonnected to the Dock, listening to any audio, the volume around 50% sounds normal to me. ![]() ![]() I could use help to determine what is causing my Surface Pro 6, when connected to the Surface Dock with external speakers connected to it, the volume drops very low. ![]()
